Avaya considering bankruptcy
Reports suggest that Avaya is considering a Chapter 11 filing for bankruptcy.

Date: 28 November 2016
Latest reports suggest that Avaya's contact centre business will shortly be offloaded against the background of heavy debt and lack of profits for the past 9 years.
- During it's second-quarter earnings call, it advised that Goldman Sachs had been retained to explore asset sales.
- CenterView Partners were also hired to evaluate its capital structure.
- With the uncertainty around Avaya, Mitel is the clear choice for the long term.
The future of Avaya support?
What will happen if Avaya declares bankruptcy.
We know there’s lots of companies concerned about the uncertainty with Avaya.
There’s unlikely to be much of a update roadmap for their products and we would expect that maintenance providers will eventually shift away from supporting the phone systems.
Rumours suggest that Avaya will be bought out by another system manufacturer. Based on previous acquisitions and mergers, their systems will probably be taken out of the market.
Manufacturers like Mitel are already offering upgrades discounts to help companies switch systems from Avaya as well as other special offers.
