Homeworking with Mitel phone systems

With the government’s coronavirus (COVID-19) response plans recommending homeworking where possible, we have received a number of enquiries about setting up Mitel Phone Systems to support this.

Working from home with Mitel

The good news is that PC softphones or mobile softphones on iOS & Android can be quickly and easily deployed on Mitel’s MiVoice Office 250 and MiVoice Business phone systems.

Both softphone options provide users with a fully operational Mitel phone extension, allowing users to communicate outside of the office environment in the same way as if they were at their desk. Mobile softphones can operate over 4G or Wi-Fi. 

Homeworking software requirements

Softphones can be deployed via the corresponding software suite for the main phone systems as follows.

  • Mitel MiVoice Office 250: Mitel Phone Manager software suite
  • Mitel MiVoice Business: Mitel MiCollab software suite
