Google to move smart-home range under Nest brand
Google has announced plans to rebrand its smart-home products, including Google Home and Google Assistant, under the Nest brand. Nest is currently the name of the company’s smart-thermostat, but over the course of 2019 Google’s whole smart-home range will be brought under the brand name, with this summer’s new Nest Hub Max to sit at its heart.
Risk of 5G delay
The Culture Secretary has warned this week that the UK’s 5G roll-out may be delayed, following the ongoing debate over the use of Huawei equipment.
Blue Origin unveils lunar lander mock-up
Jeff Bozos’ Blue Origin space company has unveiled a mock-up of its Blue Moon lunar lander this week. The idea is that it will be able to take scientific payloads and eventually humans to the Moon. He ultimately wants to use the Moon as a base from which to launch shuttles to Mars, so this lunar lander is the first step towards that goal. And yes, Elon Musk has already fired off some sarcastic tweets in response.

Service desk news
The team had a challenging start to the week, with engineers launching into action and dashing across the country to assist when a customer's servers went down over the Bank Holiday weekend. Following a coordinated cross-country team effort, they successfully got everything up and running again after diagnosing and fixing the tricky issue.
Our Service Desk team liaised with BT to resolve a customer's line fault later in the week, as well as carrying out a range of software installs and support activities for different customers.
