Trump predicts future
Remember when 5G was launched and Donald Trump enthusiastically tweeted about wanting America to have 6G asap? Well it’s good news for the American president. While early 6G research is being undertaken by several companies and institutions, the University of Oulu has released the first whitepaper about 6G, outlining challenges, research requirements and key drivers.
Google plans for a Toronto smart-city have failed to impress an advisory panel this week, who blasted the plan for including overly-complex, unnecessary tech at the expense of sensible, human-focused designs. Ouch.

Huawei are continuing in their quest to try and convince the world that they’re not evil. In their latest effort, they’ve offered to sell access to their 5G tech to western companies to prove that they’re not dodgy spies...

Service desk news
The team helped resolved a couple of line faults for different customers this week, liaising with the line providers to ensure a quick resolution. They also helped a customer who was experiencing sluggish IT caused by apps being installed on their servers.
We welcomed a new colleague to the Service Desk this week. Recent Networks & Security graduate Asam has joined the team as a 1st Line Engineer, and we're really pleased that he's chosen to start his IT career with us.
We've also celebrated two work anniversaries this week. ERP & Business Systems Manager Chris, and Customer Service Administrator Thom are both celebrating one year at PSU. Here's to many more!
